Planning on titing my 16” Ex soon.
Question: does brand make a difference? I notice on some cars 35% looks darker on some cars and lighter on others. I’m in Cali, and thinking of doing 35 (30 lowest)to play it safe.
I went with 3M Crystaline. For 50%, lowest legal for front windows, it had the best heat rejection at that time. Depending on the brand, darker does not necessarily mean the best protection, for your skin and your interior.

Accidentally went 15% all the way around. I thought that's what I had put on my last car and my daughters civic. Apparently I must of had 20% before because this is much darker. Oh well I'll just rollem down when backing out of the garage at night. Hope the law leaves me alone.

I think people have mentioned taking off the wing of an SI to apply rear tint. Am I missing something? Doesn’t the tint go on the inside? I’m asking because I remember watching a video once and they were putting tint on the outside of the rear window. How are you guys tinting the rear window.

35% on the windshield?? Wild. You'd get pulled over so quickly up here in Ontario with that! I've got 17 and 7 on the doors and rears, respectively, on my CRX and it's hard to see out of at night. This must be crazy dark inside at night! (and day!)

I have 30% ceramic tint on the rear, 40% in front. Regret not going darker. Anyone remove tint before? Or should I forget about it? I don't want the defrost lines to get damaged. It's almost see through with ivory seats. Wish I went with 20% all around.

I've done it before. It was with 30 year old tint though so made a huge mess because it came off in really small shavings with the razor. Not sure if removing more recent tint would be any different. For the rear glass it takes a lot longer to work around and up to the defrost lines. If you're lucky and the newer tint peels better once started, it may peel right off the defrost grid.

A pain in the ass anyway though. Maybe some pros on here have better insight.

I'll probably leave it on and go darker on future cars. This was my first time tinting. I'd hate to remove it and damage anything, since I still owe money on the car.

There's a few on here that have mentioned double layers. That might be an option for you.
