It would be a good opportunity to change to the Si bumper :p
Then the black hole begins... Exhaust, suspension, and the rest to complete the Si lol jk

Hope you can find a good deal soon ;)

Logically if it says it's made for this gen, than it should work, but another direction I'd consider is if it's sustainable enough, like the material it uses, is it the same kind or better than OEM? Is it flexible enough to survive in minor impacts so that the shape won't change much. Does it work well if you want to make that exhaust tip functional later?

On my old Galant I have this OE style aftermarket spoiler, which looks really nice with proper paint job done, brake light work flawlessly. But last month I found that some bulbs on the brake light are burned. Now the aftermarket brake light housing has a different shape compare to OEM, and I don't have any contact of the eBay seller left (it's been like 2 years since I bought it)

The only way I could fix it (which is what I did) is take the housing out, cut the wire, break one side of the sealed housing carefully, take out everything inside, put in a water proof LED strip that I got from eBay with double side tape, wire it up and put it back together. I think this passed the line of maintenance, but not yet a mod.

I know there's not much you'll have to maintain on a bumper, but just in case if there's anything detachable on this bumper you want to replace or add, it'll be more difficult than if you're using OEM parts. For instance, what if there's a Mugen ground effect kit for the rear bumper? Or the factory mud flaps. :hmm:

Anyway, after all, it's your car, it's good as long as you're fine with the result;)

I did a quick fix today on my own today. Got a quote for $840 for a new bumper and paint job I think I will go ahead once I save up some money :D

You did that yourself?? Looks GREAT. Hell, if I were you, I would repair that myself. (I am a big DIYer)

You did great. I would keep an eye on the junkyards around your area and grab it when the right one is available at the right price. No rush since it looks half decent already.

Doesn’t look anywhere near as damaged as the ops’. looks to me like you got a tiny crack in it and just left it. Good DIY work.

I just watched a youtube video on how to remove the bumper, took about 30 minutes. Took it to my dinky apartment and hammered the large dent out and used a sharp plastic tool to push out the sharp dents and tears/cracks. These bumpers are made of rubbery plastic!! I'm glad I decided to try it on my own first, gained a lot of experience and saved a few hundred (for now... it also doesn't look as clean when you get up close). The hilarious part was leaving the car alone in a public parking lot butt naked LOL.

Excellent to give you plenty of time to decide on a replacement. Well done!
