noCan’t read it. No surprise changes to the power or anything?
Orly? Did you ask him specifically about the LEDs vs Halogens?I have a friend that works at the Swindon Honda plant and he said the first of the 19 Type R's came online yesterday and there were zero changes to the exterior. Same wheels headlights and wing. He didn't see the inside but thinks there could be a volume knob and infotainment update Not 100% though.
Yes, I actually sent him a screenshot of the pic in the brochure. He said that was probably a lower spec R for another market.Orly? Did you ask him specifically about the LEDs vs Halogens?
Thx for this. I'm not really looking for changes to exterior as it has grown on me as my full-blown Type R-itis has set in. I saw a CW CTR close to work this morning and from the front at first I confused it with an Si sedan. WTF? Clearly I've gotten used to the overblown styling. The updated infotainment would be a MUCH welcome change however. I noticed the '19 Ridgeline didn't get the update either so I could see Honda holding out and sticking the hatchback with the old one. That would suck.I have a friend that works at the Swindon Honda plant and he said the first of the 19 Type R's came online yesterday and there were zero changes to the exterior. Even as an avid Honda enthusiast, I occasionally confuse a Civic with a Civic Si, a Civic hatchback with a Civic Type R, and even a Civic with an Accord. This will probably get even worse with the introduction of the Civic Sport and its wheels and Si exhaust tip. The average person won't notice and even those familiar with the various models have to do double takes.Thx for this. The 2019 Ridgeline didn't get it because it came out months before the 2019 Pilot, but is a year behind the Pilot (2019 is the third year for the Ridgeline and fourth year for the Pilot). The 2020 Ridgeline should see many of the changes that appeared in the 2019 Pilot such as the steering wheel and instrument cluster from the 2018 Odyssey along with the 2019 Pilot's updated infotainment system. The updated infotainment would be a MUCH welcome change however. Apart from RHD vs. LHD drive configurations, does your friend know where the cars on the line will head? I am interested to know if US finally gets parking sensors, cross traffic, autonomous braking etc. If not, then no big deal, but I would wait for a 2019 vs. picking up a used 2017 or 2018 if those features are available. Yep, the HID's in my old S2000 have been the best headlights I've ever had.The halogens were just bad in they didn't meet the minimum standard for almost all of the tests. The LED's actually passed some of their tests if only barely. The LED's failed badly when it comes to excessive glare.

The glare matters as I find Honda and Acura LED's are the worst on the road when it comes to oncoming or driving behind you as they are overly intense to look at.
I got the adaptive LED package on my M2 and they are just okay. I'm not as impressed with them as I have been with previous HID equipped cars.
My first and only HID's were in a 2008 Infiniti G35 Journey. They were AWESOME. They were the variety that used a single light source in each headlamp and a mechanical shutter for low/high beam operation. I can't remember the worst headlights I've ever had. The LED projector and halogen reflector headlights in my 2017 Ridgeline were excellent as are the curve-adaptive, Jewel Eye LED headlights in my 2019 RDX. The LED reflectors in the 2018 Accord weren't bad, either.Yep, the HID's in my old S2000 have been the best headlights I've ever had.
I'm confused, what about the spoiler? That spoiler still.... holy fk....
Agree on the headlights not looking as good
