1.5L Canadian CivicX here, got 53 mpg over 170 miles of 95% highway and 5% light city driving, as indicated by the trip computer on the dash. Practiced common sense driving, i.e. don't go hard on the pedal, had cruise control and lane keeping assist on for most of the drive. About 80% of the time was driving ~65 mph. Was a mostly windless night, about 30 degrees celsius air temperature.

Insane MPG from a relatively spirited car, one of the reasons I like this car.

Would like to hear what everyone else is getting.

Over the course of a full tank I'm getting pretty good numbers, especially on my last 2 tanks. Would probably be better if I had a CVT.

I would only get those numbers over long distances if it's strictly country roads with no traffic or stop lights... My average over 60 highway 40 city driving would be about 6l/100km in summer months. 6.8 in winter

120 km/h (75 MPH) with some elevation, my fuel economy was pretty bad: 8 - 10 L/100km (or down to 23 MPG).

Though over the course of a long highway trip, I averaged as 5.4 L/100km (or 43.5 MPG).

Lowest I'm gotten on a flat highway stretch is 4.8 L/100 km (49 MPG).

I recently had a tank hit 50.75 MPG with my 2016 LX 6spd. The dash showed 52.3 when I filled up. Been getting lots of high 48-49's with all the warm weather. 95% highway at 55-60 MPH. Not sure why it is getting this high of mileage. First 2 summers, 47's were the norm. The 50.75 made my month :)

Oh, I forgot, my record was with 87 octane gas :D but with a new air filter and after a recent oil change with Mobil 1 oil.

I wonder how premium, which Honda Canada recommends for the Civic, would benefit my mileage.

Honda Canada recommends premium? Is it a 4 door or si. Sorry if it's in the post I'm too lazy to look.

Btw Canada is an awesome country. Been going to Niagara at least twice a year. :)

4 door 1.5L turbo. Owners manual says 87 or higher. I recall seeing some writing written on the inside of gas filler door or thereabouts that went to the effect of premium gas recommended.

174 hp? 87
180+ hp? 91
So premium fuel does increase hp? There's a lot of mixed comments about premium fuel on a turbo engine. From my understanding, to prevent knock, when you call for gas (many gas), the engine creates a really rich fuel mixture. So you get the power, but at the same time waste a lot of fuel. Does adding a premium gas prevent that (good mpg + performance improvement)?
Any thoughts?

The 'sport' trims are rated as 180hp on the spec sheet and states 91 octane recommended. The 174 hp trims it states 87 recommended.
