Hello. Been lurking around a few weeks now. We just got a 2018 Lunar silver Civic EX-L sedan. I have not seen any post about the door lock delete. I had done this mod to my other cars I owned ('89 Accord coupe, '90 Accord sedan, and a '96 Accord sedan). At least with this new car, there is only one lock. Watching some YouTube videos, it seems like something easily done. I hope it is able to work. It will make it look much cleaner. I'll update as I go.

What exactly is a door lock "delete"?
It is where you put the rear door handles in the front, and remove the door lock cylinder. I'll see if I can get some examples shortly.

Here is a picture of my old 89 Accord. If you look closely, I installed rear door handles, to eliminate the ugly lock in the handle.

Here is another picture of what I'm trying to achieve.

Oh that makes sense.

The lock does look pretty bad. It contrasts highly with the my crystal black pearl. I was even thinking of painting it black.
Let us know how it goes!

So what do you do when battery in remote fails?
Well with my other cars... I was SOL. But with these new smart keys,at least the car tells you when it is getting low, so you can change it before it totally dies.

How do you get into your car if the door handle sensors stop working, the battery for the car or key fob die?

Knock on wood guys... So far I have been real lucky. But my Accord, I can still open my trunk with a key.

make itmagnetic. get some neodymium magnets from home depot. that way if you ever, ever have to use the lock you can simply remove it.
