I recently purchased a 2017 Civic Hatchback Sport 6mt and just realized the dashboard light across the top of the instrument panel changes from green to white. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with shifting or fuel efficiency but curious if anyone has more details. I checked the owners guide and didn't see anything.

Thank you.

Has anyone figured out how to disable it yet?

Make sure your car is on and not just the dashboard on, i noticed you cant change some settings unless the engine is running

The fuel economy backlight setting is under Meter. Not somewhere you would necessarily expect...

Yea it is for fuel economy. White is for spirited driving and green is for fuel efficiency. I like it. Fun to see how I'm driving.

Hi,

Its related to rpm (x1000r/min) value, If its under '2' shows 'Green' (Idle rpm) and turns to 'White' when it crosses.

The color animates from Green to White when you hard press accelerator, may be an indication to slow down and relax :)

^Not necessarily true...it will change the "shift point" based on your driving style. If you are going super slow (hypermiling) it will turn white as low as 13-1500rpm for me. If you have been driving a bit faster it will hold green as high as +3000rpm.

Agreed. I'm pretty sure it is based off of how much throttle you are giving it.

I feel like an idiot. Where is the meter button? I don't have one on my steering wheel where it shows in the manual.
