Friday and Saturday about 60 Civic owners (all Gen-X variants +1 fearless leader BB Gen-XI Sport, few Accords, couple party crashers) hung out at Fontana and drove Tail of the Dragon in NC/TN, all had lots of fun. ToTD is 318 turns in 11 miles, crazy! We had a blast driving other area roads too, try it sometime if you can. Son & I agree it’s a self-service roller coaster.

Best part (besides the road fun) was the people. Met several members here (Bob) and made new friends. Great time to drive hard, compare mods, share experiences from all around. I was honored to receive a car show attendees choice award for best FK8, thanks people!

Planning next years trip once Tim (great job!) settles on dates. Tasty food abounds and camaraderie was enriching, all in the easy going and beautiful cool mountain resort getaway of Fontana.

Was able to clean the car after getting the new carbon fiber hood PPF'd. Washed it on my way to the track for another weekend with regional Nasa group.

Great choice. You will enjoy that sound. Have fun!!!
I love it already, can't wait for break in. Smells funky right now but just outside and not inside the cabin

Made it back to my apartment yesterday from the Wake the Dragon event, but forgot to post due to my AC being dead at my apartment. It was fixed today and now I am just enjoying the photos taken from the various photographers setup on the dragon. Looking forward to the event next year!

As my first time ever really driving this hard in my life, I am shocked at how well the Type R handled those 1.3G turns, but I immediately gained significant confidence in the car and started pushing as hard as I could. And even though my Type R is still stock, I feel I only pushed it to about 90%.

It was a pleasure to meet you in person mate, the photos you post don't do your car justice.

Stock is one heck of a car. Glad to meet you too. Event in NC (Fontana Village) & TN (Dragon) turned out great, perfect weather too. The R capes exceed my comfort level and perhaps driving skill. My first two runs in the rain Friday afternoon behind the fastest driver there (he left after dam shoot) scared the crap out of me (& son) but the lateral grip on fresh PS4S was still amazing through 636 turns (out & back).

Hope you got to take in the scenic Appalachian views. To me the surrounding roads & routes were just as if not more enjoyable than the dragon itself that’s an insane turn sprint—athon. We have so many more to explore, enjoyed 28E to Bryson City (our muffler mount is fine) and then over the mountains to Gatlinburg, extending vacay until end of this week via Asheville, then back home to Destin, FL, cheers!

Sorry to hear about your apartment A/C issue.

Let’s keep the elbow rubbing going here until reuniting at TotD in 2023!

Saturday I went to Shenandoah National Park and drove a nice section of Skyline Dr. Going up the mountain was fun in this car.

sick. I wish I had mountains like that to drive in MN. I got a lot of farms instead with cows to tip.
Is that why stock R exhaust is nearly silent, to sneak up on cows? (Visualize Elmer Fudd stammering, “Be ve-e-e-wy quiet.”)

Installed Whiteline lowering springs and sway bars. Rubbing in the rear over big bumps with stock 20's and 27mm spacers(had them on before lowering). Big difference compared to stock height on stock wheels, way more than I expected and looks killer. Don't have any pics with my 18's on but ride height on those looks almost the same as stock springs. No track experience yet but with the rear sway bar in, the car feels very eager to kick the rear end out around a spirited back road corner. Overall very happy
