$96 in Phoenix! I don't recall how much it was last time but I know it wasn't $96. The main reason I go to this place is because I can go during my workday but it may be worth it for me to go elsewhere at this point.

3.7 quarts of quality oil is like 20$, a good filter is around 10$.

Being assured that it was done right, everything torqued to spec and the god damn aluminum belly pan was installed correctly without 3 missing fasteners… priceless

Around here it’s more like $60CAD plus $15CAD for a filter, without a sale. Plus the labour and cleanup. Personally for me I’d rather let the dealer take care of it for that price.

All the dealers do all civics anyways, I’m sure they can manage to do it fine.
I really hate fiddling with the panels underneath.

to each their own

177euro or $186 at the dealer for oil filter and labor .The Honda 0w20 oil is ridiculously expensive here , cost for oem honda oil alone is 80euro ~ 85 dollar .I'm going to be doing my own oil changes now and it will cost me 50euro ($53) with mobil one oil and aftermarket oil filter.

Prices in a Honda dealership for oil + filter in Germany:
Accord CU1: 5W30 ~ 170€ (180$)
Civic FC1: 0W20 ~ 190€ (200$)

My dealer is charging for a liter of oil 30-35$

The service part is the only serious income in a dealership, so that's why the prices are this high.

Germany's median income is roughly 44000€ (46000$).
My annual income is higher than this but it's still expensive servicing the car in a dealership.
Don't ask me about the prices in a Mercedes/BMW (aka broke my wallet) dealership...

The only way to know something is done correctly is to do it yourself,

You realize mechanics don't do oil changes right?

Your not getting someone who is licensed changing your oil, even at the dealership,

Most dealerships hire a kid just out of high school to do oil changes, and his only two jobs are oil changes, and washing cars,

Most apprentice mechanics begin by doing oil changes, and remember, they are learning on the job

Your not getting anybody more skilled at the dealership, then you would be going to jizzy lube,

I agree ; Most dealerships hire a kid just out of high school to do oil changes, and his only two jobs are oil changes, and washing cars

After seeing most of the peoples here post, I'd trust the work of a kid out of high school over them working on their own car...

Regardless, no not every dealer uses a green lube tech for oil changes. Our dealers use a mix between A techs, master techs, and the hourly guys. And once a "high school" kid works at a dealer a week, he's already done about 50 oil changes on Hondas and Acuras only and is more experienced than 99.9% of the people on the board.

$47.50 for oil & filter, $24.95 to rotate for our 9th Si.
They even lubed our squeaky clutch pedal and stiff back door hinge for free.
And NO stupid up-sell attempts like a Quick-Lube place (from back in the '80s)!
