Did an oil change today and noticed what looked like excess grease from this driveline bearing intermediate shaft (not 100% sure if this is what this is) thingy and it also looks to have spread (read: flung) to a different component of the lower engine bay.

Any advice on if this looks normal?

It’s supposed to have a tiny boot over the bearing part to keep grease in, but it tears off very easily.

I had mine replaced and noticed the new one had that rubber boot. Last oil change i saw it was gone again and leaking some grease.

I’ve got a CPO drivetrain warranty til 100k miles and im currently at 70k. So im just gonna ride it til i start hearing noises or have it replaced before i hit 100k.

Good to know.

What kind of noises would you be looking out for? Just like a dry bearing, “whirring” kind of noise?
