Well it's kind of 2 questions. Long story short, I have 17's on my car now because I personally liked them more, especially with the crap roads up here and the tires being a bit cheaper. But sadly at 25k my conti's are wore down and need to be replace, which has me looking at a brand new set of wheels and tires completely so that I can use the Draco's for winters as they've already been exposed to salt because I was a bad civic owner and never had proper winters haha.

That said I have 1 question for wheels and one on tire size.

  1. +35 or +45 offset? - I have +45 currently but i'm curious how much +35 would make a difference.
  2. 215/50/R17's or is there an alt 17" tire size that's better?

Depends on what wheel width you're talking about. Without checking, the stock must be close to 17x7+45 with a 215/50. If sticking with a 7" wide I would move out to +35 to look more flush.

If you're doing a summer setup a 17x8+45 with a 235/45r17 might be better.

+35 pushes the tires out further so you get more "flush" fitment. Idk if you're lowered at all but I ran a 17x9 +42 with the 215/50r17 and those boys were stretched.

If you ran a 245/45 tire on a 17x9 et35 you'd have just about the same size wheel setup but with the outside wheel poking out about an 1.5 more...which would only really make a difference if you were lowered.

I'm on D2s and I run an 18x9.5 +35 with 245/40r18 on the front and 235/40/r18 on the back.
the 245s are new for me but i rub because my suspension is so low lol.

Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 10.4mm closer to the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 40.4mm more than before.

Hi dear

If I use 17x9 +35 or 17x8 +35, will it look the same at the root of the fender and flush without rubbing with any of the 2 wheels?

A 17x9 +35 is going to poke a little on a non si and need a tire stretch. Even a +45 offset will require a stretch. I would recommend a 17x8 +45 or +35.
