We need a sticky thread here titled:

"BOVs ... Oh hell no".

Ok, here is some solid, unbiased info. It's not even from a 10th gen forum or tuner. It's a good read from Cobb Tuning on MAFs and BOVs. Just remember that while BOVs sound cool in the moment, it's the long term where it will f things up.

Definitely aim for a Cold Air Intake if you want sound & performance. Definitely the best option when it comes to long term reliability too!
Will do worried about the heat soaking tho is the cold air intake enough?

CAI shouldn't have any heat soak issues, if anything it's less likely. SRIs usually are the culprits of heat soak. You may be thinking of water getting into your CAI?

Well I guess there isn’t anything I can do for water.

Just be aware of puddles and go slowly through them. It's rarely an issue unless you get very bad flooding in your area. I've driven/know people who have CAIs near me in Florida and they've had no issues at all even with our heavy rain.
Also to answer the main question of your post, big no to aftermarket BOV/BPV. And a secondary no to boomba specifically, people have had issues with their other products, they seem a little shady to me.
