That 15mm spacer makes more sense when looking at that pic. I almost guessed 8.5 width but the poke seemed too much. With a 8" wide he's half inch less poke then the 9" but adding a 15mm spacer puts it out .630" so it will be have .130" more poke than a 9" with no spacer assuming same offset. 38 vs 42 offset is 4mm or .157" so if runing 18x9+38 would give you .027" more poke than that pic, or virtually the same.

A 18x8+42+15 would be very similar to an 18x9+40. The 9 will poke half inch more than 8, but the offset difference will bring it back .512 so it would be .012 less poke than the picture or virtually identical but with an additional inch inboard which might not fly.
But I want 17 that will look like that, I don't want 18, thanks

Funny the guy just replied to me on Instagram, you were very close though, he said he's running 18x8 42offet 235/40 tyres , but he has 15mm spacers and on the same eiback sport linesprings but no camber kit, with the 15mm spacers, what offset/sizes would I need to make it look flush like that but without the spacer?
Could you ask the guy;
- Does it rubs with this setup when the the spring is compressed e.g. going over road hump or etc.
- Does it needs to fold the fender tab?
- Does it needs to pull the fender?
- Does it needs to roll the fender?

I did, he said it doesn't rub except for when goes over bumps at fast speed, no fender rolling either

There you go. Thatā€™s make sense as there is no camber kit. Sportline drops more and that pushes the wheels way out of oem wheel alignment spec. Sportline can give additional camber of ~1.5deg. For every 1deg, it can add an unnatural ~4mm of ā€˜offsetā€™ and also cause uneven wear. In his case, since he is on the square setup, there is no room to install camber kit to correct the wheel alignment because it will rub even worse if he keeps the 15mm spacer. Back to your questions in 1st post, do you accept and live with that rubbing? Do you accept the uneven wear? Since you drop on Sportline, consider 8.5ā€ or 9ā€ wide wheel to have more stretch to avoid rubbing and yet give a dead flush stance. Additionally, you can install camber kit to correct back to oem wheel alignment spec.

Thanks, so 17Ɨ9 38offset with 245/40R17? That's the set up right? I'm ok with rubbing a bit over bumps

That's 2 inches wider than stock. You're going to run into problems no doubt. Can you live with the problems for the sake of stance? I wouldn't recommend it.

17x8+35,38,40 will look nice and have no issues. If you want agressive, 17x8.5 +35,38,40 will probably be alright with little problems. You might need a minor stretch and maybe a little camber, maybe not. I prefer no stretch and factory camber for daily so my vote is 17x8 with a 235/45

Thank u very much for all your help, I've decided to go with 17x8.5 +30 5x114.3 225/40/R17.

Cool, what wheel? I would consider 225/45 tire though.

As bbeem mentioned, consider 225/45. 225/40 will run you >5% of speedometer error although it can avoid the rubbing and work on +30. 17x8.5+35 wrap with 225/45 plus camber kit to correct the wheel alignment will be a better overall fitment with your existing Sportline.

Supetspeed but now I'm having an issue, they're saying they don't have it in 8.5 in the 17,

235/40R17 will run you >4% speedometer error which is not recommended.

235/45R17 on;

17x8.5 +35 will work better. But as you sit on sportline spring, you will need to get a camber kit to camber back to spec (if have not installed yet).

17x9 +38 can work but will poke out a bit. You can camber back to flush but the camber angle will need to increase.

17x9 +40 will flush and give more stretch/aggressive, it also also give more room to work on camber and donā€™t need to increase the camber angle much.
Can i use 17x9 +40 with stock suspension and not rub ?
