Does the inlet pipe make much of a difference? Is there anything special about tuning for the race MAF? I don't understand what the MAF recalibration involves. I'll eventually get it professionally tuned but I want to wait until I finish bolt ons

I've got a few supporting mods currently in the mail. Is there anything else I should be getting? My goals are to eventually reach 450hp on 93 or E40.

You will need some kind of tune with all those parts.

See third item from the bottom of the parts list.
Apologies. Didn't see that. Depending on what tuner you choose it should calibrate everything for you. But yes, you should see quite a difference.

I cant speak for the PRL pipe, but I recall seeing a post from Gabe at Rampage regarding theirs. The Inlet pipe decreased temps enough to allow them to be a bit more aggressive on their timing which equated to roughly 10whp.

@kefi might be able to elaborate on the tuning process for the race MAF, but bottom line is to wait for everything and do it all at once so you only need to get tuned once. Save yourself some cash that way.

Your goals seem a bit lofty for 93, less so on ethanol. As mentioned already you might want to consider a larger drop in turbo to make it a bit easier to hit that number.

Unless you’re cool with 450 crank you need a bigger turbo.

what about a downhill dyno? hehe
Some elevation and a good correction factor could do the trick. Hell you could be the first to break 500 on the stock turbo and just tell people that their tuner doesn’t know what they’re doing and yours is the best.

id personally add a drop in turbo for your goals.
Someday! I'm probably going to be at a decent power level for now. I need to work on handling for now since I casually race autocross. If I can beat a professional driver in a FR Corvette, I will be incredibly pleased!

oh yeah, nothing wrong with working on handling and autocross and staying on stock turbo.
i only mentioned it because your eventual power goals of 450.

I think 450 is what I need in terms of power at a minimum. It brings me close to the C8 power to weight ratio

I definitely need to improve skills though. I'm about two seconds behind another novice in an FK8. Im excessively cautious on the slalom and my tires are 35 instead of 30
