What is the best real world MPG average you are getting from 2.0l or 1.5l

So far on two fuel tanks I get about 6.2 l/100km (sorry, no idea how that translates to MPG). That's on the 2.0l engine. On my 2005 Civic with 1.7l engine I was getting about 6.7 l/100km for the same commute, which is mostly highway with a bit of city driving.

I won't have my 1.5L Touring model for a few weeks, but I will let you know how it does. My driving right now is about 80% highway, so it will be interesting to see the average MPG. I plan to drive a tank in "normal" mode, one entirely in Econ mode and a third in slightly crazy turbo loving mode (after the engine is properly broken in).

1.5L Touring at 5.8L/100km on a 600km trip down to Toronto yesterday. We hit a little slush between Huntsville and Barrie so it may have hit the 5.5L/100km rating if I also wasn't driving 10 to 15 km over the speed limit. I hear the mapping runs a little richer during break-in.

Fuel economy on the factory oil is going to be slightly less - especially on the 1.5T. I've heard anything from break-in to higher viscosity oil. But it seems to be common in many new cars:

Also, you REALLY need to be off the turbo to get anything above 32-33 MPGs.

How many kilometres were on your odometer when it was settled to 5.8L.

that's 20MPG, which is terrible...

Nebbiolo's post above for the 2.0L engine equates to almost 38MPG, which is expected, and slightly better than the combined estimate of 35MPG.

8.5 L/100km to mpg (US gallon) = 27.7 mpg
6.7 L/100km to mpg (US gallon) = 35.1 mpg
6.2 L/100km to mpg (US gallon) = 37.9 mpg
5.8 L/100km to mpg (US gallon) = 40.6 mpg

Bet your enjoying that turbo!!!! I think my results won't be too great for awhile either with winter weather and a happy foot. No matter, I know the results will be better than the Pilot it's replacing.

Wow that's kinda disappointing for the 1.5. Hope it's a break in thing because Honda is estimating higher mpg than the NA and so far real world results say they're misleading us.

I'm not surprised at all. This turbo is a blast to drive. It may be very difficult to discipline yourself to drive in a manner that maximizes mileage. At least for the first half dozen fill- ups

just made a 250 miles trip, half interstate half two lane roads. Touring model
49.8 mpg combined.
interstate speeds 70-75
two lane 50-55 plus going through small towns.


Just returned from my trip, total of 647 miles
Average 44.3 MPG
