The factory Honda clear makers that people have been ordering do not fit the Type R. I just tried and the wider fender of the R is not compatible. The socket hits the fender when trying to install. The orange ones that come on the car position the socket sticking at a slight angle towards the inside of the fender in order to clear the socket. The clear regular Civic ones don't have this feature. Hold off until we find the part number of the clear markers that are on the R now for the European market.

I'm not sure which ones you bought, but the smoked ones I bought off ebay fit perfectly.

Do they come up a little short on the end facing the rear or is that picture deceiving?

Thanks! Does the bumper need to come off to replace these?

Also looks like that seller ran out of them.
I just removed the 3 screws next to it and it was easy to remove, screwed it back on when I was done.

Yah, noticed they were out. There are a few different ones on eBay.

Depo makes good stuff. Theyre OEM replacement and have had smoked sidemarkers on my Pilot for 6 years without any issue.

Everyone should do this for their Type R's, those stupid orange side markers make the car look silly.

I got the factory ones from Honda. Glad to know some of the aftermarket ones work.

Are you sure they truly don't work? The factory ones from Asia need to be modified to fit regular Civics too, you have to reuse the bulb holder from your factory orange ones and cut off some tabs.
