Waddup FK8 Family!
I just wanted to share some knowledge on roof racks for the CTR. The good news is that they are the same roof fitment as the Civic hatch. I originally posted my rack on their page, but wanted to let you all in on the knowledge.
This is the Yakima baseline rack system on the Type R (clips 186 & 187). I have 48" Roundbars, the old style Yakima wind fairing, Yakima Jaylow Kayak holders, and Yakima hood anchors (which are awesome btw). I modified my bow and stern tie downs by adding some heavy duty carabiners which make loading and unloading a lot easier.
I’m pretty excited to get out and go kayaking this summer!
Yakima Baseline Towers -------------------$199
Yakima Roundbar Adapter ----------------$30
Yakima Baseclip 186 & 187 ----------------$100
Yakima 48" Round Bars -------------------$89
Yakima 44" Wind Fairing -----------------$109
Yakima Hood Anchors -----------$19
Yakima Jaylow Kayak Rack $189 x 2 --- $378
Yakima Frontloader Bike Rack---$199
Yakima 8 SKS Locks with Cores --------- $99
Total -------------------------------$1222
As you can see things like the kayak holders and locks add a little extra to the cost. They make some cheaper options for the J-hooks, but I really like the Jaylow holders. Great quality and easy to use.
Anyone else have racks on their Type R yet? Post up the info/specs!

Got out this weekend. Love being able to throw the kayak on the R.
