Um...yep. The drop looks pretty good too. Maybe it's just me, but haven't heard anyone mention the wheel gap on the production version of the FK8. Seems excessive for a type R, but maybe they need the space to accommodate the extra travel on the comfort setting.

Anyone else feel these 20" rims with barely any tire looks absolutely hideous? Maybe I'm just not into thin tires but that just looks so bad to me... from almost all angles of this car out in the wild the rims just to me look odd without tire around it.

I agree it looks strange, as someone said it looks like the tires are painted on the wheels...it also looks like those rummble strips on the shoulders would scuff the red paint. I look forward to seeing what the community is going to come up with as alternatives.

Lol I can feel the track junkie need for some more sidewall as well. Visually, the 20s are ok me, a little much, but they're stock and an attractive rim (a combo rarely seen). Practicality wise, 20s are a terrible choice but I'll deal with it. I won't be buying new summer rims, and sure as hell won't be selling the stocks. I'll need winters tho, hoping I can get a cheaper enkei in 18s for that.

A new set of proper rims from rays or work would easily be $5k CAD, which (hopefully) I won't be able to afford because I'll have bought the car :D

I had the Time Attack TE37's, funny how they were black with the red stripe too
Have some TE37 superlaps too! But they have 275 wide r-comps on them.. I fear if I take them for this car, my Subaru will never start for me again :(

The style is kind of bulky for my taste, but they'd fit! They also look like they might be a bit heavy.. Are you using them as winters?
No just a 19" DD tire/wheel and keep the 20s for track days.. no winter driving.

Proper. At least you'll feel literally everything on the track surface! I'd be terrified of destroying my wheels on the track tho.. Punting cones, rubbing fenders and shortcutting apexes takes its toll.

Anyone ever consider what extra rubber would look like with the stock wheel gap? I know the type R is lower than the standard hatch, but it still won't be nice and tucked without some magic (adaptive??) aftermarket suspension..
