Just curious, what's this all about ? Learning to drive and for 30 years thereafter, I drove MTs. 3, 4 and 5 speeds, in a wide variety of cars. Can't ever recall anything like this. There was always the obvious concert of clutch, throttle and gear selection. Very smooth, ideal RPMs, never a problem. Been with automatics for the past 25 years and much prefer these.

It makes me wait so long for the RPM to drop in order to have a smooth shift without the jerkiness.

If I don't shift slowly, especially from 1st to 2nd, the transition will never be smooth, the car will jerk.

Or maybe I'm just a newb at driving manual...

This is pretty common with K-series engines. Its occurred with the K20Z1 in the RSX-S, K20Z3 in the 8th Si, and K24Z7 in the 9th Si.

It's just a DBW thing. Tuning will fix it.

After getting tuned, my LX never does it anymore.

I've learned to shift with it ... No jerkiness here ...the rev hang does suck when you first experience it

I've been driving a manual trans for over 50 years, traveling over a half million miles in them, and it did the same thing for me. It's the car pal, not your technique.

Do you ever get used to it to the point where you don't notice it any more?

My pos 2007 Pontiac wave (chev aver) was terrible for this, I never got used to it. Feels like it wears the clutch out more too because I got tired of waiting for the revs to come down so I just let the clutch out which would put wear on it obviously, so yeah I hate it. I hope the Type R and Si don't suffer from this.

I am certain they will.... unless you get a tune that disables it... which would be a nice thing to do for other benefits as well, but, bye bye warranty
