Hello,
My rear sensors arrived and I'm planning to install when I get some time :)
I notice I rely on the audible sound that my other car has when backing into tight city spaces while my head is swiveling around on the look out for oncoming everything in San Francisco.
Nothing beats the pressure of backing into a parallel parking space vacated by a Mini in front of a sidewalk cafe with a row of Harley's parked behind.

Got This kit:

Remove Rear bumper:
Edit: bumper removal is not necessary...just remove the honeycomb garnish and feed the sensor wire thru the hole already in the bumper.

wire CPU to reverse light:

Drill sensors to bumper (the corner ones I'll have to figure out) maybe test out the sensitivity to see if needed and if can be placed in the honeycomb garnish.
(Blue tape marks possible layout):

Wondering if anyone reading can comment and has any advice before I attempt this install.
17 Hatchback ex-l nav and sense.

Thanks and also to the people that made the YouTube videos

I'm curious to know how this turns out! I wanted to buy the OEM equipment and retrofit it into my CTR.

Hi, I have a unit that came from China similar to OP unit with 8 sensors. I had a shop install 6 sensors, 4 on rear bumper & 2 on front bumper (to avoid hitting a curb that I don't see). Mine was connected to the brake lights so ANYTIME I step on the brakes the unit will turn on and will stay on for 10 seconds showing the distance of an obstacle/object. Unit has no off button. It had a voice mode too, but it was so annoying because the voice will be on for 10 seconds too saying how far or near an object is. So I set it to sound only, to the lowest volume. So when I step on the brakes the unit turns on and beeps once but shows me numbers (distance) at the same time. Mine was connected to the brake lights because that is what the installation guide stated but I think it should have been connected to a wire attached to the car's reverse mechanism so it only turns on when put on reverse and not every time the brakes are pressed. It's so much less annoying now but could have been better.

@hatchjen the sensors appear to pick up at about 3feet so I guess they can be wired for full time on and would also act like blind spot sensors.
Not sure about the logic of wiring to the brake lights.
The wring diagram I got shows the connection to the backup light.

For now Ill be following this:

Im considering wiring for full time on and placing 2-sensors on the front corners because the sensors might not fit in the black garnish.

Thanks for the videos, now I need to check if I change my setup or bring it back to the installer.

Great! Might as well get them to work how they should.

Edit: so the kit I got will work best in the rear and connected to the backup lights because
the sensor wires aren't long enough...either front or back.
The beeper is real LOUD...so in a back access panel is a great spot.

A separate front system might be good.
I'd sure like to figure a way to switch on or off.

So how did your installation go? Got the cable connected to the back (reverse) light? If so, then your unit should only turn on when backing up, right? I think that unit has a volume setting, doesn't it?

@hatchjen Are you going to change how your sensors are turned on?...with front sensors you might as well have the system trun on when the car is in gear.
Audible blind spot monitoring is kind of helpful going in and out of tight spaces.

Yup...put car in reverse and no more backing into stuff.
The straight install is pretty clear and mocked everything up today.
Just haven't drilled the holes yet...getting ready for a road trip next week.

I didn't see a volume switch but if none and too loud I'll stuff some towels around it (+++for putting the beeper in an access panel in the rear).
Can't wait...I'm starting to make beep beep beep sounds when I'm backing up lol

Haven't even figured out the forward sensitivity settings yet!

Haha. I'm scared to re-wire it myself, I will let installer do it so I don't mess up anything.

Ok, not done and taking my time so some slow progress...

Fished the lead thru the taillight grommet:

Spliced the CPU red lead to the green wire reverse bulb:
Honda Civic 10th gen Request: Rear parking sensors IMG_5296.JPG

Power when shifts into reverse:
Edit: I may have taken pic still in reverse with engine off, I forget (<12v).
The liberal use of electrical tape surprised me v German assembly.

Put the CPU and beeper in the jack cubby:
Honda Civic 10th gen Request: Rear parking sensors IMG_5305.JPG

The beeper is not as loud as I thought.
Im still trying to figure out the best location for the beeper and the sensors before I remove the bumper...in the rear honeycomb garnish is the best spot for the corner sensors but they don't fit.
Maybe I'll have some time next week...tbc

You folks are correct!... the civic paint scratches and chips real easy.

Very basic wiring diagram. I put a screw on the jack holder for ground. (hole saw included in that orange box)
