Period for Honda Roadside Assistance?

The "free" Honda Roadside Assistance that they give you when you buy a new Civic -- how long does that last? I think it is 12 months, but I want to confirm before I throw out my Roadside Assistance card...

What exactly is Honda roadside assistance? Is it like triple A?

Yes, it's similar. Except I think they will only tow you to a Honda dealer; but like jump start, gas refill, etc are similar to AAA. I had good experience with the one time I called them, although it was in a very popular area (between two major cities where everyone commutes all the time).
