Hi guys, I need some advice for my future rims and tires setup. Stock rim for sport model is 235/40r 18 factory offset 45? I believe. My plan is to get Rims 18 x 8.5 offset 38 and tires is either 245/40 or go 245/45 so I get more sidewall. Car has not been lower yet, not sure on how low but for sure going to get rid of the wheel gaps.

You do realize that bigger tire will mess up your odometer and speedometer ?

This ^^^ plus potentially have clearance issues if the tire gets too fat.

Do 245/40-18, or maybe 255/35-18 if you have the choice (CTR stock tires are already 245-width anyway).

(I'm about to turn that URL into a text shortcut so I don't have to keep copy-pasting it into CivicX.com threads)

[edit] BETTER link for you since you're talking about changing the offset, too:

I was wondering about that, how big of a tires can get before any rubbing on the FK7.
So now i will either go with 245/40-18 or 240/40-18:D.

My car came w/50s & put 55s on it .... to close the wheel gap which it did work, I kinda like the bulky look it has now. Anyways, I knew the acceleration would drop but I had no clue it would be dramatic !!! According to my garmin gps tho, the car odometer reads about 1.5 km less then the actual distance travle. I wouldn’t recommend going bigger at all .

245/40/18 would be your best option. 245/45/18 are too tall and would affect gear ratio which hurts performance. Also, they don't make 240/40/18.
