Hey,

So I been running a custom tune from Vit for months now and no problem. After re-flashing my car with a new calibration (just launch control enable) my knock count on ktuner keeps going up and up like crazy.

WOT doesn't seem to cause it as well. I can be idling for 5 minutes and the ktuner will show knock count at 10!!!

Is this normal lol? This never happened before and I'm running the same octane gas as when I started the tune.

The only difference is that it's winter weather here now.

Did you enable the new anti-lag system for launch control? People have been saying that they've been seeing knocks with it on.

I’ve heard the “knock count” reading on our ECU isn’t much to worry about. Just keep a close eye on knock control.

Knock control seems to be normal, sticks at 0.49 and jumps to .55 on 2nd gear WOT pulls

No idea, I'll ask Vit since the calibration is hidden

The V2 firmware was updated along with the last ktuner update. The new firmware repaired the K count. Before It wasn't registering on the V2

And knock isn't always audible to the naked ear..but if you hear a pinging type of noise then its prolly a knock.

Couple here and there is nothing to worry about.
I mentioned this in a other thread:
I woulda loved to have a ktuner on my 8th gen..im sure knock count would go into the hundreds in the matter if seconds when I lugged it in 6th with 87 octane.
Ping..ping.ping...ping...pingping....ping..ad so on

Ive been seeing the same thing in the knock count as well. It' been scaring me. I see the same on the stock tune as well.

We've mentioned the above in several places now. Knock count is not always a direct indicator of knock. A small count is not something to worry about.

Knock count on the K20a from previous gens has no relation to the knock count on this motor. Why is this "sponsor" allowed to continually post links to things that have nothing to do with the CivicX or its engines, and yet my comments get deleted or modified when I bring this up?

when there is a new generation motor, we use past experience as a guideline to determined what is normal...

this is the exact same when k series replace the b series, we use the experience from the b series do's and don't as guideline for the k series...

things like engine knock, usually the answer is the same regardless of the brands & engine.

the answer is usually 0

But its not the answer here, and these are turbo motors and a completely different animal than going from NA motor to NA motor. And we have 2 years of knowledge on this motor now, its not like it came out yesterday. We have the vendor who makes the tuners and tunes for this car telling us some knock count is fine, but yet again you disagree. You can have knock count on this motor and it wont mean a thing unless your Kcontrol is running wild too.
