So, I figured this would be a common question because I know personally, the differing color lights just look, well, off and it bugged me a little.

I just ordered all new light replacements as well as new side markers (smoked, not clear) and figured I would post which kind and where I got them to hopefully help someone else out and ease up the amount of research required.

First off, Low beams. I purchased the HIKARI LED conversion kit (recommended here on CivicX). They are 6000k H11 (H8,H9) with Cree XHP50 LEDs - Purchased here - https://www.amazon.com/HIKARI-Headl...rd_wg=wTuox&psc=1&refRID=EAN4H8ZBH0K6XNECZRW3

Second, fog lights. I purchased the Sirius H8 30w 6000K DRL/Fog lights (also recommended here). I purchased them here - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00N5BAWYK?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00

Third, smoked side markers. Now I understand most people are interested in getting the Asian market clear lenses. But as I have the white orchid pearl paint with the EX-T rims and trim, I figured I would go with the black/white scheme and thought these would accent amazingly. I purchased them here - http://www.ebay.com/itm/DEPO-2016-HONDA-CIVIC-2D-Coupe-4D-Sedan-SMOKE-FRONT-BUMPER-SIDE-MARKER-LIGHTS-/311890402549?fits=Year:2017|Model:Civic&hash=item489e1ddcf5:g:TlkAAOSwfVpYsTgQ&vxp=mtr however, you can purchase most of these on this link here with no problem - http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...+civic+smoked+side+marker+lights&_sacat=33715 I specifically purchased the first link because it shows they come with amber bulbs (California law requirement :banghead:), possibly save me some time and money, but do as you wish.

I will be posting pictures Saturday when I get off work, as my low beams, fogs, and side markers will progressively get here over the course of the week. Hope this helps!

I have the same LED headlights and Fog, the sirius fog lights are to bright and all over the place, I am considering getting something else but a pain in the neck to change, love the Hikari Headlights.

Personally for me, my goal in the fogs is bright scattered light. Less fogs, more accessory lighting. I live in SoCal so fog is pretty much a never occurrence, however, I do live in a rural awfully lit canyon. and I used to drive a 96' explorer with no fogs. So, fog piercing lights were never a luxury and i've adapted to seeing without them :headbang:. The dark canyon on the other hand is the scariest road around, windy 2 lane road that the city ignored with atleast 2 new potholes daily. So bright lights + scattered light is my preference, so I can get a bit of a flood effect. For reference, I put a 24LED 120w 15,000 Lumen lightbar that was 1/2 flood and 1/2 focused beam on the front of the explorer just to see (yes people hated me if I didnt turn it off quick enough ;))

If they are a problem for you, you may want to either point them lower to the ground (below the fog) or get a dimmer warmer color.

The side markers you picked has a $55 shipping fee to Canada.. gonna try one of the $10 shipping, hopefully it's the same thing.

Who recommended leds? Leds are garbage for low beam headlights. They scatter light like crazy, have too much foreground light and generally just suck. Only factory LED are worth anything. In the first photo you can see the halogen on the right had a directed beam that stays in shape and on the left you have led that has a square shape, thats light scattering everywhere causing tons of foreground light, and thats at a close range, imagine that 50 feet down the road. In the second picture you can just see how much brighter overall HIDs are than LED or Halogen. Sure, buy leds bc the match your DRLs but they are not better or recommended for halogen projectors If you get proper HIDs you can color match your drls

This post isn't a post for debating whether or not HIDs are better than LEDs ir vice versa. This is simply for people who are set on getting LEDs and desire to match their DRLs at that. Personally, ive had great experience with LEDs in driving applications.

The HIKARIs and OPT7 fluxbeams and sirius LEds have been reccomended for this application multiple times here for those looking at LEDs. As well, you can see four posts up someone else has had another good experience with the HIKARIs.

Im not debating, its a proven fact. You said they were recommended, by who? Other board members who in fact don't know the truth? If you want to match your drls you can do it with hids that are better and safer than leds because they actually function.

Dallas, I said the HIKARIs were recommended for LED application. I didn't say LEDs were reccomended over HIDs. Like I said, this isn't a thread for debating HIDs vs LEDs. Its simply a resource for those going a certain route.

SilverRascal Apr 23rd - "Hey, add me to the list of impressed for the Hikari LEDs. I had the OPT7 LEDs before and was not impressed with the output of the lights plus the drivers burned super hot. So, I returned them. Then I installed HIDs and while they were the best for overall brightness I really wanted the instant on of LEDs. The Hikari's are not nearly as bright but better than the stock halogens and a nice match to the DRLs."

"I think the throw on the Hikari's is better and they match the DRL's better. I really like how much the yellow fogs compliment the Opt 7's though. If I had to do it over, I'd probably go with the Hikari LED's and the same yellow fogs I've got"

Gheezycivicx mar 7th "
Definitely white on the hikaris. I had fanless LEDs that were more yellow by Xenlight.

I couldn't be more happy with the hikaris"

And this is just from one thread you commented on.

The HIKARIs are reccomended for LED application. If you decide to go HID more the merrier. However its disingenuous to say these LEDs were not reccomended here because HID > LED when they certainly were. Especially because I never once mentioned that LEDs were superior to HIDs, and this should be a given. Ive worked with HIDs in multiple applications. I am well aware of the light output capabilities of HIDs. But that doesn't mean EVERYONE should only get HIDs ever. People are liking them. And people are saying they are better than the stock halogens. Thats all.

Well I was going to let you be but since you wanted to..... Personal anecdotes do not outweigh actual facts. LED replacement bulbs underperform compared to even halogen bulbs. Most of these chips come out of China and are never even tested by the company to prove the lumens they say the have on the packaging. They simply cannot meet halogen, let alone HID standards in a non led projector light.

People think bc the it appears brighter or they can see better right at the front of the car that that makes LEDs better or ok. It doesn't, it actual makes it more unsafe because they can not properly light distance down the road and the glare they put off blinds oncoming drivers when they get close. The beam should be directed toward the ground down the road and led beams do not do this. Oh and god forbid it rains and then your beam is completely washed out by the rain......

I could go cherry pick hundreds of posts to back my point but its pointless, you do you bro and Ill keep informing people of how terrible Leds really are.

Look, I think you're missing everything im saying.

- This LED kit has been reccomended on CivicX.
- Nobody said LEDs are better than HIDs, but there has yet to be a negative experience with this kit in the 10th gen projector housing.
- This post is for NOTHING MORE than to direct people who want LEDs to the kits that other people have had good experience with.

I dont understand the tirade you are on. I never ONCE said you were wrong about HIDs. Even the quoted posts I shared never said LEDs are superior to HIDs, infact the opposite. That HIDs beat the LEDs, but the LEDs were an improvement over the stock halogens. But not everyone wants an HID kit. And if someone wants LEDs then thats what this post is for, to help ease their search and direct them to what has been used and reccomended for LEDs here. Just because you like HIDs doesnt mean everyone has to use them.

I totally understand your position. I find that your posts will be helpful if I choose to go the LED route. Not sure why he keeps trying to bust balls, but I wouldn't worry about it. Can't satisfy everyone all the time.

Why anyone would choose the inferior route is beyond me. Im not busting balls, Im speaking facts. Anyhow, continue on....
