Update 4/28/17

The K20C2 is actually the base LX 2.0L engine.

The FK8 is in the Amsoil oil weight database. It looks like the FK8 engine code is the K20C2, whereas the FK2 is K20C1.

Capacities: Without filter 4.2 quarts After refill check oil level.
With filter 4.4 quarts After refill check oil level.

A little surprised it takes less than 5 quarts of oil.

Honda Civic 10th gen K20C1 is the Civic Type R engine code k20c2.PNG

Good to know, thanks for posting.

Was thinking about this the other day too....what brand of motor oil is everyone going to put in their CTR?

I was thinking about putting Redline or Castrol after my second oil change.

Good info and I'm not to surprised it takes that much oil. My subaru takes about the same.

I thought it would take more for better oil cooling. My 2015 WRX takes 5.3 quarts. At least with the CTR, you can just buy one 5 quart jug!

Surprised too. The S2000 2.0 liter takes 5.1 quarts as per the manual. But I always dump 6 quarts into the engine during oil changes which indicates "H" on the dipstick. Probably will stick with Mobil 1, always been good to me and known universally to be a high quality oil.

The sti only takes about 4.5/4.6 quarts. It was a weird thing to learn as well coming from the s2000 which took a bit over 5. Of course some burn oil so that .5 quarts is going to be needed before the next oil change anyway

Strange, it must be a mistake. The fk2 needs 5.5 quarts for oil change incl filter.

The K20c2 is the LX civic 2.0 non-turbo engine. The K20c1 is the TYPE R engine.

I'll double check this, but I'm almost positive

Yes in the Service information through Honda's iN portal it list that the 1.5t and k20c1 have diagrams for turbocharger systems. It shows the K20c2 as not having a turbocharger and that it is connected to the LX Civic single opening exhaust that's mounted off to the side.

So the K20c2 is not the Type R engine.

You're right. Was up late last night and didn't even verify the engine code myself.
