I had my car with 87 before the fill up, I ran it almost empty and people over at /r/Cars told me to fill up 91 or higher octane just for the next fill up so I did 93.

On my next fill up should I go back to 91? Does 93 make any improvements with the +9 tune? Or will I just be wasting money.

Thanks!

My understanding is that higher octane fuel will lead to lower knock control and more ignition timing which gives you more power. @Hondata can confirm or deny that.

Use Hondata mobile or your laptop and take a look at your KControl (knock Control). The highest octane fuels tend to give around 54% knock control. If 91 Octane gives you 54% knock control, use 91. 91 gives mid 60s in California.

I connected via Bluetooth and I'm getting 54% on 93. I'll see what I get when I switch to 91

I'm in SW FL, no matter what octane fuel I run with that tune the knock stays at 54, however fuel economy suffers with lower octane... weird

Why are you running 87 on a tuned turbo car anyway? That’s just asking for trouble, just fill with 93. Much safer and more performance.
