So I’ve pondered for a while but realized that there doesn’t seem to be any way to hide a spare key if you have the push to start option. I’m still surprised that Honda puts a lock on the door handle but never provided anywhere to use the physical key inside the car (not even for a locking glove box!).

I don’t typically lose my keys considering how expensive they are these days but I do like the idea of keeping a spare close by if need be. Has anyone else wondered the same thing or come up with some kind of solution for this?

They sell pouches you can put a push start key in that will block all the signal they make so you can be right next to the car and nothing happens. Same thing with the dealer keys they put in those boxes on the window. Otherwise someone could just walk up and start the car with the key on the window.

Um, why not just get another fob, wrap it all over a few times with tinfoil, then put it in a metal (waterproof) container, and secure the container and ground it to the chassis?

The tinfoil won't interfere with the internal mechanics over time?

Just open your spare fob key, and flip the battery upside down and hide it where you want. Then when the situation occurs where you need it, you can just put the battery in the correct position and voilà.
