Well yeah, strip a car down to nothing, then build the motor and put a big ass turbo with some longer gears in the trans and it will go super fast. Plus that thing is setup as a land speed record vehicle.

All that being said, 245mph is no small accomplishment. (255 in the video is wrong, they later found that was from wheelspin.)

Yup. It has a big ass turbo. It is a landspeed vehicle. There are not many places you can go to hit top speed, but the Bonneville Salt Flats is one of the best. Its not stripped down to nothing. With the safety cage it weighs more than a stock CRX. It did that speed with 600 hp. We tuned that 1.5 to make 940 hp but were not able to test it at that power level.
