Dropped my car off at the dealer yesterday to do my oil change, and I mentioned to them that sometimes when I'm coming to a slower stop, the front brakes were making a clicking and clacking noise.

Low and behold they call me back a few hours later stating that both the front rotors were warped and the pads would need to be replaced as well.

Luckily the rotors were covered under warranty, but not the pads.

Now as far as I know, I'm not too heavy on the brakes, I just really hope this does not happen again at 60k.

Anyone else have a similar experience??

I've previously fixed this so-called "warping" by going to a high speed and slamming the brakes on a couple of times to get the brake pad deposits on the rotors hot, and then braking with less force to spread it around, never letting the pads stick to them until the rotors are cool (e.g. no stopping with brakes on)

YMMV

I'm guessing the factory pads are kind of on the cheap side. I would use aftermarket pads and possibly rotors on your next brake service. I used EBC pads and Brembo blanks on my last 2 civics.

Which EBC pads? I used Cobalt pads and Centric rotors on my EP3 (and I've got no idea what I used on my previous two Civics; probably OEM Honda brakes).

You drive in reverse a lot? I have gone 30,000 on my 99 hatch before I had to change front pads.

It's personal preference on what kind of driving you do mostly. Check their website. Also I don't see a point in using anything but blanks on our cars unless you are racing on track every so often.

NM on the Brembo's for now. They don't have them for our cars yet apparently. I'll have to contact them.

I would love to replace my pads/rotors with better ones than OEM, but it's covered under warranty right now so why bother?

I think once the warranty runs out is when I will upgrade.
