I'm still breaking the engine in, so overall, I'm taking it easy. My commute is basically 10 miles; 2 miles city, 6 miles highway, then 2 miles city again. So about 60/40 highway. I live in a hilly area.

I generally get around 40MPG in D which is pretty damn good on a brand new car. That's about 10+ more MPG than I was getting with my last car (2010 Kia Forte SX) on the same drive.

I get even better MPG with ECO on.

Just picked my 2016 Honda Civic EX-T on February 21st. Have put about 620 miles on it so far. After that small "break-in" period, I experienced what I considered to be fairly decent gas mileage.

This picture was taken in eastern MA. The route was from Salem, MA to Sudbury, MA during rush hour and then around 8pm on the way back. If anyone is familiar with the area, neither Salem nor Rt. 128 south are anyplace you want to be during rush hour unless you have no other choice.

Tank was about 3/4 full, only me (male, 6'3 ", 225lbs) and a child car seat in the rear.

Stop and go on the way there, smooth suburban then highway driving on the way back. Was in cruise control Eco mode doing 70mph (on a 55mph highway) during the return trip.

Just had to drive two round trips to Chicago O'Hare from central Wisconsin (550miles round trip). 99% of the miles are interstate. With both trips I got 46MPG which I thought was pretty nice. Probably averaged about 72MPH with all the summer construction slow downs. Interesting, sandwiched in between those two trips was my usual commute of 90 miles on rural 55mph highways. After 350miles of that driving I got 55MPG on that tank of gas. It is looking like I am getting better mileage with this 2017 EXT with MT than I did with my 2005 Civic Hybrid.

Picked up my new 2016 Civic Touring (coupe) model, 5 days ago.
Here are the numbers for my first tank of gas:
592km, with a range of 91km remaining.
Average: 5.5L/100km = 51.36mpg(Imperial). Approximately 90% highway driving with ACC set to 110km/h,
and ECON set to 'ON'.
My last drive, a 45km drive home from work, averaged 5.2L/100km = 54.2mpg(Imperial).

This is twice the gas mileage I was getting with my '12 Ford Edge SEL. It was one of the main reasons
for buying the Civic. Not to mention the great looks, fun drive, and Honda Sensing.

Recent vacation trip stats:

2017 Civic Sedan LX 2.0 CVT.

470 miles from PA to ME through NJ, NY, CT, MA & NH. Almost exclusively highway.

2 Adults, 1 3-yr old baby boy, 1 small dog. Trunk stuffed full.

Econ on.

A/C on.

Avg. speed 70 MPH.

Calculated fuel mileage 40.2 MPG.

Currently in ME. Will provide update after return trip this Saturday if I remember.

Update: Return trip 492 miles (Waze App suggested a longer route to avoid midday traffic in Hartford CT area)

Calculated fuel mileage 39.8 MPG. I'll blame the difference on driving against a headwind on the way home.

My mileage varies wildly. It's really all a question of how you drive, where you live and whether the A/C is on.

On my commute to work (60/40 highway/city) I see 40MPG regularly. My recent best was 49MPG driving pretty conservatively with Econ on and A/C off. On the other hand, the other day I really put my foot into it for most of the drive and only saw 28MPG (A/C on) on the same loop. It's just a matter of how often you're getting into the turbo boost.

That's what's great about this Civic turbo. You want good mileage? It's easy to get. You want good performance? Honda's got you covered. :)

...wait 'til winter though :(

My commute is roughly the same as yours - 9 miles each way, a few miles local and a few miles highway. Commuting alone usually nets 40-42 right now, A/C off. This plummets to 31-35, at best, during winter.

Flipside: Drove ~130 miles to Richmond this weekend, A/C on the whole time. Netted 50.4, with 20-30 miles of heavy traffic. Downtown DC with A/C was about 18.

I'm rambling - but either way, I can't complain  thx Honda

22 miles each way once in a week (I drive my awd murano as my daily, which is getting 22-25 mpg combined) I'm getting around 36-37 mpg combined.

2500 miles on the clock. Still running factory oil. No econ. mostly no traffic. About 70 mph speed.

This will show you how my car has done in the first 10K including the accuracy of the dash compared to calculated L/100Km (MPG).

Very nice detail. That's about what I've seen from people who use Fuelly that there's about 1ml/gal difference (dash shows roughly 1 ml/gal more) than a more accurate count.

I filled up today and compared the car's trip computer to the actual MPG for the first time. The trip computer said I averaged 38.4 for the tank, but by my calculations I actually got 35.9 ...

Still, that's hugely better than my last car (A 2010 Kia Forte SX). I was only getting about 25.7 for the same loop on that car. Overall, I'm pleased with the mileage, especially considering I deal with a lot of stop and go driving and the A/C's been blasting most days.

Warm weather mpg:

My last two tanks were low 50's. Probably 70% of that was on the highway, targeting 65 mph. [If I return to my normal cruising speed of 70 to 75 mph, then tank average will be in the mid 40's]
In my suburban (city) driving, .. I can average 40 to 50 mpg as long as the trip length (each way) is more than 2.5 miles and I don't get hung up in too much stop and crawl. (skip shifting, keep the rpm's low, coast when possible)

For a drivetrain that combines power and fuel economy, I just don't think there's anything out there that beats Honda's 1.5t+6mt.

We got the Honda 2016 1.5 turning turbo in Dec 2015. As of 6-26-2017 60,000 mile, just change all four tires. SC state. This car likes it warm and just do speed limit. It is dam hard to keep 52-53.4 mpg. And some time it hard at 50mpg . Prius 53-58 mpg but it a hybrid. At 70 we might get 48-49 just depends on hills at that speed for us.
