Alright guys, here's a way to save some money and bring out the Do-it-yourselfer in you. I've been doing this for about 10 years and figured I'd do a short write up the next time I did it..well that next time was today and for the Civicx crew.
I've seen sites wanting crazy prices for anodized ones so the Diy in me found a cheaper way to do it.
I couldn't justify spending some of the prices some places were asking for these because most of the bolts that these will go under will rarely be taken out again anyway so it's an install and leave it type of thing.
This cost me $15!!
Materials Used.
Duplicolor Metalcast - $10
Countersunk Washers - $5 worth (about 60) but you can do more and have lots extra
I got two different sizes in case the area I was going to be putting the washer in had a smaller area.
If you really want to get into it then go ahead and change some of the bolts to Allen wrench head bolts too. The bolts that hold the headlights and fender on have washers on the bolt already so I may just be leaving those unless I can get some nice bolts and do my own little set up.
Here are the Countersunk Washers.
I put the Washers on to a box and started with a light coat followed by two heavier coats. 3 Coats total was all that was needed. The more coats you do and the heavier you go the darker/deeper color you'll get. Allow them to dry thoroughly before installing.
These look GREAT in the sun.
I installed a couple of them just to give you guys a look of what these can do.
