Can you guys chime in please. I've been seeing reports of highway mpg better AND worse than the reported "up to 36mpg". Picking up a HB here in the next few weeks and I keep coming back to Sport (touring) because of low availability on the EX + Sensing.

This car will be a daily driven commuter for me so the 40mpg (highway) on the EX with CVT is definitely a plus.

Thanks!

My EX HB CVT non Sport easily gets 39-40 hwy MPG. I commute 48 miles to work and back five days per week, most of it hilly hwy. I usually set the cruise on 76 to 78mph.

Thanks, I appreciate the response! Looking for more feedback on the Sport models.

I have the CVT Sport and according to my car's computer I am getting 28.7 mpg. I am bit of a lead foot at times and I commute in LA traffic 5 days a week. But I only have about 3000 miles on it so I am not sure if the MPG is set in stone yet. I use premium fuel to get those extra 6 HPs. Did I mention I am bit of a lead foot? YMMV...

Aggressive driving I get 30mpg, normal 36 mpg, speed limit 42mpg. 50 city 50 highway for me.

I'll make the math simple for you - you're looking about 10% less fuel efficiency, close to 20% more for price of entry and more expensive tire changes over time. Given you'll likely see better fuel economy running premium gas too, it'll probably be between 15-20% more overall cost of ownership over the lifetime of the car.

I bought the Sport Touring, but the EX + Sensing is an extremely good value IMO, thus its rarity too at the moment on dealer lots.

The gas mileage due to the way it is tuned and the 18 inch tires may be lower but it is so much fun to drive especially on curvy roads.

Hatchback Sport Manual here. I haven't done any long distance road trips, but my highway trips even in rush hour traffic get me 6.2l/100km which converts to about 38mpg. If I were to take it on very long highway trips, I'm sure I'd break 40+mpg easy.

My '17 EX-L HB has averaged around 31-32 MPG for me over the last 2 weeks, thats mostly highway (3-4 hours a day for work) and some city driving.

I hate to be the Debbie Downer here, but all of these sub-50 mile mpg ratings are fairly pointless. Too easy to "fool" an ecu for that short amount of travel.

Give us real world FULL TANK usage mpg. We all know you won't see 50mpg then.

Manual sport hatch, 33.8 MPG. 90% city driving. I rarely take the freeway. Only have about 1100 miles on her though.

I feel like that's decent for three reasons:
Almost exclusively city driving.
Brand new to driving a manual.
It's 110 degrees here and my AC is always on high.

My wife drives 90% highway to and from work, about 33 miles each way. Currently sitting at 36.4mpg average. But she also runs errands at work so it would be higher if she just went to and from.
