Oh it will be in the garage, and at work, its probably even more secure: 6 homeland security officers, one at the gate, id entry only. It will be that one day that I go to get a Slurpee, it will get stolen.LOL
Yea,
that one day when you're at 7/11, or the night out in town...
I know exactly what you mean, and it is dreadful to worry about the car while you're having dinner...:banghead:

I agree... I think special shipping care should be taken with these CTRs
I really can't believe they aren't wrapped especially since they're now Honda's premiere vehicle on sale (soon to be). I don't know what the vigorous process is for shipping over seas but the idea of a nearly $40K vehicle not being wrapped before shipment kinda makes me nervous!

Economics. It's probably cheaper to fix occasional damage than to cover the entire vehicle. Considering the price range of new vehicles (not including supercars or exotics) ranges from $15K to $300K, a $40K vehicle isn't very special.

This is a good point. Don't get me wrong, if it were up to me I'd have the car flown here via military air carrier, in a massive box with nothing but silk pillows and blankets. But in the grand scheme of vehicles being shipped our mid $30k isn't special enough to warrant a full wrap and extra protection when being shipped.

No vehicles that start costing over $100-200k I can understand.

A dealer near me got a few new vehicles delivered yesterday evening. One of them was a gray Civic Sport. It had cohesive wrap covering the entire hood, roof, and parts of the fenders and doors. There were also foam pads glued to the doors and bumpers. There was also a white Accord whose rear was obviously facing forward on the transport truck - the trunk and rear bumper were 100% covered in a thick layer of smooshed, dried bugs.

The transporters often deliver new vehicles after-hours and on weekends. I've seen several vehicles arrive with damage. Not long ago, there was a V6 Accord that had its entire left muffler ripped off when it caught a high spot while being backed off the transport truck. It got a new bumper and muffler and was put on the lot and sold - the buyer will probably never have a clue.

I worked at an FCA dealer a while ago and Hellcats were dropped on the lot in the same manner as Jeep Wranglers and rental fodder 200s. Plastic wrap on the hood and door handles, those green lip protectors and all with a dying battery and in transport mode. I've seen SRT Grand Cherokees come off the trucks with bent exhaust and Ram trucks worth twice the Type R with badges and gauge cluster for the Hemi when it had the Ecodiesel.

The Type R is cool, but on a macro economic scale, Honda doesn't give a fuck... If something is wrong, they'll repair, write it off and in the grand scheme of things, it'll cost less than NSX wrapping it all together.

Actually, my dealer told me that when my CTR comes:1. it will be in a special covered trailer. And 2: no one will be allowed to test drive it. But...then again... he is a sales man and I am a woman...I don't put much faith in his words

Took these clearer pics from the other CTR thread thanks to @All-Knowing for sharing originally on this forum!
So, silly question I'm sure... how did they get those cars on there with no engines??

No engines? Those cars are already built, the engines are built in the US, shipped there, assembled in the car, and then the completed car is shipped around the world.

Wow...I feel like an ass. I told someone today that they were going to be finished here in the US... damn... now I totally look blonde.

No worries, you wouldn't have known if you were fed misinformation.

I really appreciate that, this whole experience has been so damn ambiguous, but I must say...I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve...waiting for Santa!
