So ive seen posts on getting crv map's and such dine to our civics.. And everyone thinking it was the same exact engine...

Anyways was sitting at the dealer helping a friend get the new civic... And i keept staring at what i thought was a pilot... The more i looked the more it didnt look like a pilot.. So walked up to it and .... Damn thats a nice crv.. Popped the hood expecting to see a familiar work of art.... Noooooopeeee... Heres a photo of the crv's 1.5l... Needless to say you can see how its getting some of its extra power... And i dont believe that will fit on the civic...

OP, to what are you referring that you see?

All I see is a big resonator added to the intake pipe to quiet it down even more.

"There is also what initially appeared to be a mystery box on top of the 1.5-liter turbo. A quick call back to engineers revealed it to be a special resonator designed to absorb and attenuate induction noises caused by the turbocharger"

The CR-V has a lower compression ratio which likely lets them turn up the boost a little more. That's probably a bigger difference than the plastic box.

i think they put a lot of plastic to fill up the bigger engine bay, otherwise some would say the 1.5 engine is too small for the car
+1.. There was an insane amount of room in the engine bay.. Specially behind the engine.. You can see the ground atleast 4ft×1ft.. Behind the engine.. Plenty of room in front and also the sides... It looked empty with a motor...

The CR-V is a more expensive car so they probably wanted it to be even quieter, thus the more extensive resonator.
