Nice article. There's no doubt the Type R is a better performance car but to be fair the 370Z (base car as well) is ancient and the STI is also long on the tooth. The acceleration times for the STI are the slowest I have seen recorded. I'm willing to bet they could have brought an EVO X and it may have outperformed the 370Z and STI.

I love these too. Really nice way of comparing the cars.

The Type R's power to weight ratio is definitely impressive. The roadholding # is pretty amazing too.

Morning rain has dampened the track, a traction penalty that should favor the STI over both the 370Z and the Type R. However, J.F.』s lap times set the podium order the same way the road did. The Honda laps the small track nearly three seconds quicker than the Subaru, five quicker than the Nissan.

J.F.』s consistency in the Type R is spooky, even considering the home-court advantage. Over three hot laps, he posts two times identical down to a thousandth of a second.
Surprised to see the Type R has 3-5 seconds advantage on a short 1.1 mile track in wet condition. And that sort of performance looks very repeatable too.

I wonder what the actual lap times were.

I wonder why the 370Z doesn't come with an LSD?

Nice write-up. Kinda slow times for the STi. In my 04 STi (stock), I would run 13.2 - 13.4.
