Well he should be! It's the biggest event ever! Maybe Honda Laura will cover it....
Or maybe he said no because he wanted me to leave him alone already! Or maybe he is there and doesn't know the Press Release came out, so he's still maintaining his secrecy.

So you think this possibly leaves the impression we should get the majority of the info released at this LA reveal/presentation?
This would be a great time for Honda in my opinion to release it all out everything. Because if they wait until NYIAS they will be in my opinion taking the thunder away from the SI and I know Honda likes to make sure each of there products gets there individual spot light.

This would allow everyone who's been waiting to get the info they want, financially prepare etc. let the dust settle and then boom a couple weeks later SI comes out with info.

:D Wow, talk about a last minute announcement with just over 48 hours to go! I had re-arranged my schedule to get to the NYIAS as I thought that would be the big NA reveal.

With JDHonda's excellent intel on the Type R having 30 minutes of main stage time I would assume there should be more info coming during the show. Let's hope so.

Also, note the link posted this by the OP is an official Honda release. They confirm the price will be in the mid 30's and that the Type R will go on sale in the late spring. :p

This Honda press release also confirms 306HP (SAE net).

Can you take a tape measure with you and measure the bolt pattern of the wheels? Thanks. Anyone else going that can do it if erbee can't?

Hmm. Run it through TireRack.com. I know you can put in 2017 TypeR and pick tires...maybe the wheels are available too? Not sure if they've had a chance to measure.

No go. They either don't have the wheels in the size and bolt pattern, or they don't know it.

Ahh dang. Well, we are reasonably sure they'll be 120x5. I think
I'll be downsizing for winter. Hoping I can fit Ridgeline or MDX wheels.
