This car is trying to take back the record.. no doubt about it. Removing wheel caps.. or maybe they flew off.. open gas door.. increased fuel flow.. Roll Cage and Cameras. All signs point to yes.

So whatever record they claim is a lie. This is not a full production CTR.
I'm pretty sure i read somewhere that it is required that they must fit a mandatory roll cage, and they are allowed to eliminate some of the weight to justify the difference.

I keep following up with this thread because of how popular it seems to be today, and I zone into CTR details and speculations. Meanwhile I hear this buzzing sound which turns into my physics professor going "......total linear momentum remains unchanged." Then I look at the board and it's completely filled in and I frantically write notes before he erases. Honda is causing me so much stress but so much excitement!

How do you figure? They all add roll cages, some do much more and it's still 'production.' Here is the video and report:

"The new Golf GTI Clubsport S will be offered only with a six-speed manual gearbox to keep weight down. The rear bench is gone for the same reasons with a rear strut brace taking its place, as is most of the sound deadening material, saving this way 30kg. Notice that the record car had a roll cage fitted."
