I'm coming to the show Saturday and I'll ask them as well...
Did they have either the Si or the Type R on hand? They had a coupe last year which was a bit of a surprise to many.
In detroit they had the Si, but Philly tends to get the short end of the stick sometimes when it comes to the auto show

Hey buddy, I know it's been 30 years, but I thought my '87 Si hatchback was a 1.5L ... in all its whopping 90hp glory! hahaha
Correct! "In 1986, the Si trim was extended to the Civic hatchback, offering the same performance of the CRX Si but with four-seats. Added improvements for the Civic Si hatchback included a removable glass sunroof, a five-speed manual gearbox, tilt steering wheel, a full-width taillight panel, a color-keyed front airdam, sedan-style disk wheel covers, and a roof spoiler. Like the CRX Si, the Si hatchback was powered by a 91 hp (68 kW), 12-valve SOHC engine designated EW4/D15A3 (the latter code was used for the 1987 model year but with the same specs)."

I sort of blurted it out SteveGG style as I am still sour on the new Si 1.5L subject.. seeing as I have a CVT Si outside already; to me..

I think with the headway that Hondata has made with the flash pro, Honda could be considering other options for the Si? I mean think about it, spend 22k on an EX-T plus $650 on a flash pro and you're well within Si territory (minus the LSD, suspension, and interior/exterior bits) for a few grand less. Maybe Honda had an 'oh, shit.' moment and realized they needed to widen the gap ;)

That's probably not very likely, given the general amount of thought and time and resources that usually goes into design and development and scheduling and the myriad other considerations they have to keep in mind during the whole process...

If the price difference is only a few grand less, then no, the EX-T is not worth it. The Si is the better deal because you won't have to risk your powertrain warranty, and you won't have to tear down your car to add the LSD and suspension. Those 3 components are well worth the upcharge.

Yep that and we still don't know what the bump in output does to reliability compared to factory... as well as emissions over time.

All but confirmed??!!! Honda has never liked any of my tweets like this before, but they did on my comment in response to their newest #powerofdreams advertisement, announcing something on 2/5/17.

No, this is the CRV Superbowl campaign. If they were to ever feature a niche car in a prime time spot, it would be the CTR or NSX.
