On Friday in my 2017 Civic EX-T manual transmission sedan my gauge cluster lit up with several error messages. The car only has 1,650 miles on it and the following messages appeared:

The car still had power steering and the brakes worked (both the pedal and parking brake). The brake hold button would not work though.

I called Honda and the tech on the phone said it's most likely and electrical problem from the car. Since it's a long weekend I didn't want to wait until Tuesday to have it looked at for a system glitch. I went ahead and unplugged the battery for about 10 minutes to reset the ECU.

After doing so cluster showed me this screen;

System Initializing

I drove the car about half way down the block and everything went back to normal with zero issues. I haven't driven the car much since then, but for now everything seems to be ok.

I'll make an update if any other issues occur later this week.

I had a similar problem on my '17 hatchback ST. My lane departure, forward collision, and adaptive cruise control all came up with warnings. The car drove just fine but I never actually tested any of the features. It only lasted for about 5 minutes before it all went off and the car drove like normal. I've driven about 300 miles sense then and the car works fine. I'll be taking it in on Tuesday to let the dealership check it out. Any guess on what caused it?

It's the price we pay for having so many computerized features. It happened to me once in 10 years on my 2007 Civic. If it happens again, then I would worry.

It's been a week since I reset the ECU and I have had no issues. Not sure what set it off, but everything is working and back to normal.

Did you take it to the dealer for a quick look over anyway?
