For those interested or planning on getting their car tinted or ceramic coated, the shop I took mine to have uploaded some pictures and videos on IG of the process. I drove straight from the dealer to the shop on Tuesday, and will be picking up the car this Saturday.

Things that are getting done:

40% CarbonXP Tint (Did not have to remove either rear spoiler)

Super foam prep-wash
Clay bar
Nano polish (primer)
Paint correction
3 layers of 9H Ceramic Pro
1 extra layer on exposed areas
1 layer 9H on plastic and rims
1 layer of Light as top coat
1 layer of Rain on windshield and front side windows
Ceramic Pro wheel and caliber package

Nice. I was thinking of ceramic coating, film, and tint that blocks out heat more so than to make the windows dark.

Mine goes in next week for ceramic pro gold package $700.00 4 coats plus 2 clear. And PFF is going to cost me roughly $1600-1700, I'm covering a lot

Im looking at ordering a ppf kit. looking at the 3m scotchguard brand. but there is no kit listed for the type r only 17 hatchback. Is anyone aware of a brand that is making a kit for the Type r specifically?

Stuff is lifetime, I'll get the name and post it up soon.
Very nice JJ !! You'll invest the money now & it will pay for it self for years to come. It's the best money spent , second to the car it self  Sounds like our cars will be protected very similar, lots of pff, especially around the wheel arches. And the first time you watch the brake dust literally fall off the wheels with no scrubbing , it's a damn good feeling lol

This may seem like a silly question but I don't know much about detailing cars, is there a reason to put ceramic coating on if you're going to PPF your whole car? Or are you putting coating on top of your PPF?

Nah no need to put ceramic over a clear bra !! Just put ceramic on the painted areas, glass & rims. There are no silly questions, we are here to help buddy. I suppose you could put ceramic over the clear bra , but there's no need really. Hope that helps

What I meant is, why are people coating their cars and then also putting ppf on top of it?
