Hi guys,

Although my 2015 civic hybrid does not have the navigation system installed, I was amazed to find that it does have a built in GPS antenna as you can see in the pictures!! it also has a turn by turn navigation option in its settings!

I'm wondering if it means that to have the Honda's navigation running on my factory's screen, all is needed is to download a piece of software or so Any idea about this?

I'd be looking forward for help and advice

Thanks,

People with 2016 EX-Ts are in the same boat. There's a GPS antenna in the fin but no navigation software. At last check no one has really figured out how to tweak the software to the extent of being able to add in-dash GPS.

I generally just use Google Maps via Android Auto, so I haven't really needed to look into it though. I would like to have the DII support for it that is blocked off for no reason though.

The 2015 is not equipped with android auto, which even makes it more frustrating. I also was looking to see of I could get my system updated to support android auto

does the honda maps update that ships in a USB stick do the trick?

I think it all has to do with the VIN and licensing to whoever they are getting the software from. Also, I'm pretty sure the GPS antenna is not in fin because I don't have one but I can see the GPS debug screen. Back when the AppRadio was big it would use the GPS antenna from the head unit and you could put the phone in the glove box. It might be the same with android auto.
