I just noticed this black mark on my hood, not sure how it got on there it doesn't seem like a scratch, extremely superficial, but doesn't seem to rub out. Any idea how to fix this?

seems like a scuff, grab some detailer and a clay bar. or spay some detailer and rub with you fingertip

"it might be doo doo"

But in all seriousness, I had a similar mark on my driver-side door but it was opaque white. Mine was from a spinner at the carwash. I rubbed with a soft micro fiber sponge when I hand washed and it slowly came out. If the car isn't brand spanking new, you may also consider trying the duplicolor prep spray. It may work well, especially if the scuff is plastic or nylonish rubber. I used prep spray to get the glue off when my dealer logo started to peel and I took it off.

Ended up using ScratchX 2.0 took a bit of massaging but worked like a charm. Think it might have been a scuff from road debris, had just gotten back from doing a drive to DC.
