    Hello,

I've had a '16 Civic Touring for less than 48 hours. I'm still playing. I'm coming to the conclusion Carplay is more annoying than useful. But, that's a whole 'nuther discussion.

One particular bug I seem to have is that while listening to FM the Carplay interface for Pandora will randomly activate. In other words, FM stops, and it waits for me to press Play (or whatever) on the Pandora screen. Hmm. I go back to FM, and a few minutes later it makes its opinion known once again.

It happened one time while I was sitting in my drive looking for something in the manual. It's happened other times while I've been driving down the road, but otherwise not touching the audio system. It's not a case of "bumping something" as best I can tell.

Has anyone else experienced this or something similar with Carplay?

I have experienced similar issues with CarPlay. It seems that whenever the phone makes any type of sound it immediately switches to the iPhone as the audio source and does not switch back. It does not necessarily start playing music from the phone, but will permanently switch to it as the audio source until manually switched back to the previous source (FM in your case). Perhaps Pandora is doing something in the background, or another audio app, and it is causing the unexpected switch.

After giving CarPlay a try for at least 1.5 months, I finally abandoned it for plain old Bluetooth. To be fair, the Bluetooth has plenty of issues due to bugs in the infotainment center, but at least it sort of works as expected a solid 90% of the time.

Just got a 2016 Civic EX-L and have this same issue.
Was there ever a real solution found?
