Hello Civic X.

This is my first thread here. First of all I would like to say that this is one of the most up to date and credible FORUM as far as Civic X . I have been following it for years now. Really appreciate everyone's here and its truly beneficial for the all the community all over the globe.

I myself an Avid blogger and have been writing blogs about Civic X for quite sometime for a huge automotive community back in Pakistan. Civic X is being assembled local here in Pakistan by "Honda Atlas Pakistan Limited". Like everywhere else there was a lot of craze and excitement. But things didn't go well in local market. The car since launch have been reported with number of quality, fit and finish issues. There is a lot of bashing from owners and other local auto enthusiasts. The poor quality of door welds as well as the quality at interior is very questionable.

I just wanted to share about how a simple QA/QC can ruin an otherwise a well awarded beautiful car. People are making noise but the local auto sector is very small and they have made cartel and people have no choice. The car assembler is removing basic features and they also did with Civic X for local market as well.

If moderator and admins allow, I can share my blog URL and efforts with everyone here further down this this thread.

That sucks. Simple solution for buyers in Pakistan - don't buy the cars. And keep making complaints to Honda.

yes we are doing this by making people aware. We tried it via social media as well sending emails and phones to Local Honda.. but their head don't roll. The consumer rights are not very well protected. One reason for this thread was to make Honda global aware that how a local assembler is ruining their brand.

They went so cheap that the 1.5T which is currently sold as top of the line model.. don't have a trunk liner.. Local assembler use local vendors for lot of plastic and urethane parts, they even skipped this from a flag ship model

How much is the 1.5T, in local currency?

Skimping features to save costs could maybe be justified. Replacing parts with shitty cheaper ones and not including things like trunk liners is pretty fucked up though.

But then again Honda has partnerships like this in other parts of the world too. I think the Chinese CivicX is also not built by Honda, but a "partnership"

1.5T is available only in one trim and is called as top of the line Civic. The price is $28700 with current rate of exchange before taxes and registration, which adds another $2000 approximately. labor cost is much cheaper. The quality , fit is horrible, forget about missing features. Following are main things available/ or not available on local 1.5T
  • no auto headlights
  • no auto wipers, even the sensitivity on wiper stalk is stripped away
  • no auto dimming rear view mirror
  • single zone climate control is provided.
  • no vanity lights
  • no 60/40 rear split seats
  • 16" alloy wheels. [everywhere else on globe its 17"]
  • no hydraulic rear suspension bushings.
  • only two front air bags. no Honda sensing package.
  • no side-view mirror camera
  • no TPMS
  • no full digital cluster like US/ Canada. Local Honda gets the partial cluster as 2.0L US model.
  • no power adjustable driver seat.
  • no apple car play/ android auto head unit like everywhere else . It gets double din Chinese android head-unit.
  • only 4 speakers. No tweeters.
  • no phone control button on steering wheel.
  • even the USB connectivity like US model. they just placed a wire with USB in the dashboard compartment/ old school method.
  • no LED headlights.

The Pakistan Civic assembly line is a partnership with Honda and Honda has major stake in it above 50%. The plant assemble only Honda cars.

OMG..I'd flip the f**k out for real, how can Honda allow this to happen or at the very least send some Q/C people to oversee plant production :spaz::bat:

LOL I like how you get paddle shifters and a sticker in the rear window that advertises ABS and VSA like it's 1995! :D

How does it compare against other models for features and price?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it almost sounds like they made it with less features that can break. Useful if you don't live near a major city. Honda probably doesn't have an extensive dealer or service network on Pakistan, I'd assume. But those quality issues... Ayyyy! I'd just buy a Hyundai or Skoda!
