Being in the Maritimes, Winter is just around the corner, figuring tis the time to start preparing for winter! I've been digging high and low and haven't really found anything concrete on fitment, given stock is 18x8 +50 offset with the 235/40/18s, I came to the conclusion that 215/50/17 on 17x7 +45 would likely be the best bet to keep similar geometry, also since the calipers definitely won't clear 16 inch wheels from what I've heard and found. Just wanted to see if anyone already got steel wheels/winter wheels and if so, what spec. Thanks folks! :)

I am told only certain 17's will fit too, because of the wheel style. That being said, I ended up getting a winter vehicle, that came with winter tires on it. Couldn't pass on the price or the condition, as it only cost a little more than buying an extra set of rims and tires for my Si.

Bit of an update, went to the dealer I got my car from in Amherst NS, Cumberland Honda, got a sweet deal on some EX-T wheels, 17x7, +45, 215/50/17 Firestone Winterforce 2 tires on them. Price wise, I'd of ended up saving like 150-200 and waiting a while for steel wheels. If I recall the math, came to about 140 per tire and about 160-170 per rim. Fits perfectly, no issues with clearance and looks decent!

I went with the same size tire, Bridgestone WS80's and Costco Steelies (The ones they recommended in their fitment guide, on the box the size was 17x7 +45).

Installing November 5th, glad to finally see someone throw on my winter tire size choice, was getting a little concerned if I was missing something by going with the 215 50 R17.

Ditto! :) Figured the 215/50/17 on 17x7 would of been the best bet at keeping within tolerance, think there was only a 0.4% difference, typical max difference is 3% if I recall! So far so good :)

I decided to go with a 185/65/15 winter tire haha. Much easier to keep the Si clean and salt free that way.

Must have felt like you saw a unicorn when you found that Accord! At least up in my neck of the woods, it's rare to see that model year not beat to crap and rusted all to heck! Nice winter ride! :)

It really is. I didn't believe it until I went to check it out. Zero rust and rust free underneath too. If you look close, you can see the quarters were repaired at one point, but they did a really nice job. The engine top end and bottom are both dry. It runs smooth (smooth for 194k miles), and there are no grinds in the tranny. In the past 10k miles, it has had a timing belt and water pump, brakes all around, a distributor, a battery, tie rod ends and cv axles, and tires are at 75% tread.

Literally the only real things I could find wrong with it was it is missing a passenger inner fender liner (already got one off Ebay), the passenger rear power door lock actuator doesn't work ($25 fix) and the passenger front power lock switch doesn't work (another cheap fix). Picked it up for $1100. I figured I would drop $700-$800 on winter wheels and tires anyway.

Any one have any idea how low of an offset we can run with 18" wheels?

Depends how wide the wheels will be! Have anything in mind??
Yeah I have a set of AG wheels from my old car that I never used. 19x8.5F +20 19x9.5R +18 are the specs. I know these are 19” but that’s not what I’m concerned about

Amazing. I will go ask the dealerships.

Did you install the new shoes? How's the ride? Did you have a choice of winter tires?

I was going to myself but was waiting on my torque wrench and all to show up still. Charged like 70 for the install so I figured I just let them do it. I knew there wouldn't be fitment issues since apparently another Si owner did the exact same thing so taking them back with me would of been an option. Saved me the work if anything! Ride is fine, definitely not nearly as grippy and sharp as the 235's were, but feels smooth and pretty good up to now! Eager to see how well they'll perform along with the LSD when snow starts to pile!!

Thanks for the quick response. Did you have a choice of winter tires?
I was in the dealership last week and they have loads of Michelin.
