Every 3,000 miles can't wait to get to Jiffy Lube...

IMO yeah it's pretty bad but it depends on your driving style and environment, Broheim.

How long have you had your car? The car manages oil life via mileage and time so if youve had your car lets say 9 months and only put 3000 miles on it and did not beat on it.. Then it is basing the oil life based in the time it has been since it was changed and the. Secondarily based on the mileage..

In example my mom lives in europe primarily and hasnt been back to the u.s. in almost 2 years.. I changed the oil on our 3rd car.. Technically her car.. About a week before she last left the u.s. (she was here for that week and what i will say mext will explain why i changed it then) i start her accord every week or so and put about 1 mile on the car by going to the grocery store... The car has accumulated aproximately 250miles since she left.. At wich point oil life was at 90%.. As it sits today oil life is at 15%... So the car is basing it on the age of the oil...

Im not an expert on oil but i can confidently say that oil breaks down over time.. Even if it is not in use..

How dirty does the oil look ??
Its not gonna look dirty at all most likely.. But again.. That doesnt mean that its fine on a molecular level... Ive had oil come out of a car after 10k miles and look just about brand new

Which engine is it? The Turbo's service interval is really long.

Perhaps the 2.0L has the shorter service interval? My 9th gen was like every 3000 miles or something like that.
