I was quoted a price of $22,484 for the EX-L Sedan , is that as low as I can expect?

Read the history of these forums.. I paid $21,500 over 6 months ago for a 2017... you should be well lower as 2018s will roll in soon...

When will the 2018s get in, and do you think there will be any major differences that are worth waiting for?

I'm really hoping for blind spot monitors and a volume knob on the '18s

i'm also in the market for an ex-l but with sensing. it's rare to find one and only found one place with the color i want and sensing so far. the lowest i've seen for ex-l without sensing is 21,005 and 22,244 with sensing. do you guys think it's a good price or should i go lower?

This is totally possible.

A guy I know at a Honda dealer told me that Honda is, in general, moving toward aligning Sensing with trim levels rather than as a stand alone option. This may not be the case 100% of the time, but seems to be plausible given that is how they are handling the new CR-V, and Odyssey.

Eventually, you'll see it standard across the board. But I think you're right in the short run. You'll likely see Sensing standard on certain trims on most everything.

Caveat: This may only apply to "new" designs. The CR-V, Odyssey, and anything else that is totally new, such as the upcoming Accord. It may not apply to designs finalized before a certain time period, i.e. the Civic, Fit, HR-V. The lower end cars sell to a more price sensitive crowd anyway, so to keep prices down Honda may hold off on standard sensing as long as they can on the less expensive stuff. Speculation. We'll know soon enough.
