Just checked all the inventory in the state that shows on the Web. Over 100 '16 Civics. My VIN to model code decode supposition holds. Including FC1F9 Civic Sedan 1.5T CVT Touring. Can't say what to make of the 000001 VIN from Greensburg. We're sure that was a Touring why? Touring-unique external clues: Touring unique wheels? LED headlights? Chrome door handles? Indicator mirrors? Decklid badge?
Yea, touring - wheels, LED lights, chrome door handles

So now the easter egg hunt is for an FC1F7 reported as a Touring. I just checked Norm Reeves, each store, and every Touring is shown as a FC1F9 VIN. Including a number from Greensburg.

VIN's can be fun. In the collectible world a special or historical VIN# will add thousands and thousands to the value of a vehicle.

Looks like maybe 'LX' is '5'. This could mean the 'DX' is '4'.

Any EX, EX-L and EX-T owners out there who will share their eighth digit? With or without sensing as it may change the number.

Anybody seen their '2GH' Alliston sequential VIN# start with anything other than '1 - - - - -' or 5 - - - - -'? I'm suspecting the '1' stays in Canada and the '5' is exported to the U.S.A.

How about the Indianna '19X' cars sequential VIN#. Do they start '0 - - - - -'?
Mine was from the Alliston plant and my numbers 12-17 start with '6 - - - - -'

Could Allison have produced 100,000 units for the U.S.A. by now or is something else going on with these numbers?

Something else but what? There is no requirement for these six digits besides uniqueness. They are not required to be sequential or anything else. Honda's appear to be sequential, generally. But they seem to use the first digit or two for ?, and not clear where they start. The first Alliston '16 on the island is …630461. It was here the week of introduction and, since it's a LONG trip from Alliston, it must have been made very early to get here that quickly. The most recently reported Alliston car enroute, but not yet here, is …512739. Go figure.

Perhaps which shift and line assembled the vehicle, just a guess.

My Touring was made in Canada, the production number is 631362. They have not made that many cars. I believe it could be the 1'362 car made. Either of the larger numbers is not impossible. I bought the first Touring that showed up in Racine Wisconsin.

Number 8 reads
  • 8 = Sedan EX with Honda Sensing / EX-T with Honda Sensing
  • It should read:
  • 8 = Sedan EX with Honda Sensing / EX-TL with Honda Sensing

Still no hint about the sequential no being totally sequential?
