I believe they're trying to market towards younger buyers. Typically younger civic buyers upgrade to accord. Don't see anything weird with it, I enjoy the video.

Honda has often done quirky commercials online.

The OP video reminds me of that TV show from the early 2000's Full Metal Challenge that was a spin-off of Junk Yard Wars. The did the bowing thing on that show.
