2016 Accord Mid Model Update Spied

Car and driver has quite a few pictures of the mid model update accord for 2016MY. Looks like they added alot of chrome. New LED tails. New LED accent lights. New front and rear fascias give it a bit more of a sporty look. But i can't help but feel like the bold chrome bar with the two smaller chrome strips on the grill make it look like the pre-refresh 2012 civic grill. Overall not a bad update it looks. Can't wait to see what Honda does with the Accord when it comes time for the total redesign probably for 2018MY.

Nice update. The LED's are sweet but all that chrome definitely needs to go.
Just noticed that it's looking more and more like a proper sports sedan too - that rear quarter shot reminds me of the Infiniti G37/Q50 sedan.

The chrome fad needs to go away. It's so garish, ugly, and tasteless. What's next from Honda's stylists? Vinyl roofs?

I don't completely dislike chrome. But as an accent only. Little touches of it here and there can add a nice upscale look, especially interiors, around vents, knobs, etc. But use nothing but chrome for an entire grill is a bit much. I'd prefer a piano black. I can't imagine piano black accents are really more expensive than chrome accents

When I see chrome on new cars I think of stuff like this:

Honda must be aiming for the older crowd with the chrome nose.

Inconspicuous styling, V6 engine, chrome accents, reliable... it's the perfect ride for the average past-middle-aged buyer.
