'17 Civic hatchback water draining sound at start up

I have a '17 Civic EX hatchback CVT that I've had since November 2016. It's been a great car and I enjoy it very much! Over the past few months I've noticed at start up this draining water type sound immediately after start up. It sounds like it's coming from between the dash and firewall. It only last a second or two. Also, it only seems to occur after the car has been sitting awhile. I checked my car floor and my carpet is completely dry and no signs of leakage inside the car and no odors. Any suggestions or assistance. Thank you.

I agree. Have you checked the coolant level in the radiator when the car is cold? If it's low, you might have air in there.

My old 15 Civic did this if it sat overnight or for several hours. My new 17 Civic does the same thing as well, pretty sure it's normal.

I just heard it for first time today. Same exact description, right after startup, lasts a second or two. Car has bout 8000 miles now, EX CVT 2017 hatch

My 200k cobalt started doing that about 6mo ago. My auto buddy thinks I may have to burp the cooling system. Haven’t tried it though.

Exactly the same on my 2017 Civic HB Sport Touring. Will ask the dealer to look at it and update this thread!

It's the same on my side with my Hatchback Sport Touring. I asked the dealer and they blew the cooling system. The same sound of liquid came back later. I always have a liquid noise at startup, not always. I'll talk about it again with the dealer. I think it can be a defective clamp ring maybe ...

Came to say I have the same issue - started happening a few weeks ago. Hopefully it's not an issue with the HBs.
